“We believe the things we carry should tell a story — forged from grit, sacrifice, and legacy.”
Meet Joshua Best - Founder, Silversmith & Designer
Tokens of Valor was founded by Joshua Best — a silversmith, storyteller, and designer driven by a deep respect for craftsmanship, legacy, and the enduring spirit of those who came before us. With a background in visual storytelling, adventure culture, and American-made craftsmanship, Joshua approaches each piece as more than jewelry — but as a tangible artifact meant to carry meaning, memory, and identity.
Every design is rooted in old-world grit and forged with a belief that the things we carry should tell a story. Drawing inspiration from maritime history, warriors, explorers, pirates, soldiers, and the hard-earned lessons of lives fully lived, Joshua handcrafts each piece to feel timeless, rugged, and deeply personal. No two pieces are exactly alike, because neither are the stories behind the people who wear them.
Meet Josh Scott (RedBeard) - Co-Founder & Curator of Relics
Co-founder Josh Scott — better known as “Redbeard” — brings a lifelong passion for history, relic hunting, maritime culture, and salvaged artifacts to Tokens of Valor. As the owner of Commodore Coins and creator behind Redbeards Relics, Josh specializes in sourcing and curating historical coins, reclaimed materials, relics, and artifacts that become part of many Tokens of Valor creations.
From weathered shipwreck coins to reclaimed brass and storied materials pulled from forgotten places, Redbeard helps ensure every piece carries genuine history and character. His eye for authenticity and appreciation for the romance of the sea, exploration, and adventure help shape the soul of the brand.

What Sets Us Apart
Hand Forged, Not Mass Produced
Every piece is individually handcrafted in the United States using traditional silversmithing techniques. No assembly-line manufacturing. No outsourced production. Each mark, texture, and finish carries the character of true hand-forged craftsmanship.
Built from Real History &
Reclaimed Materials
Many Tokens of Valor pieces incorporate reclaimed brass, historical coins, salvaged materials, and artifacts sourced through authentic exploration and curation. These are not manufactured “themes” — they are pieces carrying genuine history, provenance, and story.
Jewelry Designed to Mean Something
Tokens of Valor is built around legacy, adventure, sacrifice, and remembrance. Every design is intended to feel like an heirloom or artifact — something worn with purpose rather than disposable fashion. The goal is to create pieces that become part of a person’s story over time.
